Here we go! A cross breed thread!

The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful.


Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales of your horses, or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

This is also *not* a chat topic...Please keep that in mind. If it turns into one, I will be forced to close it down.

I'm creating Quarterwelshes which is a cross between a male Quarter horse and female Welsh pony. So far the two foals have decent stats.

Wow, it's pretty hard making friends on this server with no EC forums...

Anyways, do any of you do crosses with Argentinean Criollos? Or even purebred breeding?

I've decided I'd like to maybe start developing that breed while I'm on here and would love to have some partners or just people I can swap coverings with default smiley :)

Misty, I did Criollos in UK up to 5 star in 11 days, then stopped because my crossbreeds were doing better. (Phœnix Rising on UK as well, ranked 23rd, and should go up tonight default smiley ;) ) Currently have the top non-50/50 crossbreed GP wise on UK.

Tekes can go with anything. I find Tekes and GVs to be an intriguing mix, while Tekes and Friesians are not worth doing. QH too if you can get a high enough cover,

I have just begun breeding Anglo-Arabians, out of an Arabian dam and by a Thoroughbred sire. So far the progeny's skills look pretty promising. Anyone have any tips to offer?

I just crossed my purebred friesian horse with a male thoroughbred. They are both fully trained, 100 blup and have over 1000 pts in combined skills. My friesian has 300 in dressage and the sire has 195.99, I used aphrodites tears on the breed so the foal will have excellent starting skills. This is going to be my first REAL grand prix hope!! So excited.

Bred a TB x QH filly today. She ended up with 142 IBS, 22*/ 738.26 GP!

My newest crossbred horse which is also my first Prix hopeful:

Figured I would name him Prix Posse since he IS going to be chasing the grand prix. I am pretty stoked about it. He is a Friesian / TB cross which will have bonus pack, nyx pack, woy etc.... I am also going to look for a "high" lesson price EC to put him in and would like 55+.
