[info/FT] Cross Breeders
I suppose it would be. I dunno if I actually want to go for GP or just best in a disipline. Guess we'll see how my crosses do.

Those are some nice crosses.
AthenaMyth, we found that the best way to improve a set of disciplines was to find those breeds that have the same 3 disciplines in their top 3, just not in the same order, and then cross-breed. So if you want to improve Dressage, for example, you would go look for all the breeds that have dressage in their top 3 skills and cross-breed within that group. We also found it was very helpful for the amount of gain to regularly introduce pure-bred to the line - every 3rd or 4th generation seemed to give good results. Another thing we found was than an occasional breeding with a horse that has Speed as it's top skill helped a LOT with the blupping and overall performance. We did learn that it's possible to breed a "bad" cross that is very, very, very difficult to blup. We found that horses with "level" skills often won't blup without BM assistance. When I say "level" skills I mean if all 6 disciplines have the same number in the GP, so a horse with all skills in the 60's would be fine, but a horse having all skills at 65 would struggle. |
Awesome foal twanyboy!
Cheiron - alright I had actually looked hard before for what horses would go best together for that disipline like you said, and the top three were PSH, Friesian and FT, which is what I'm breeding, while trying keeping trot up there so breeding back to Purebred trotters. I'm a planner, so I had my breedings planned out for a few generations, and I'm glad to see that I'm doing it right. Guess lurking on the international site helped. This was very helpful thank you! I will be very careful to not get level skills and definitely be asking for advice later. |

I think so, cg34219.
|
AthenaMyth, I'm not sure whether it will be the same here, but on the international site, we can no longer breed back to pure. The most it will ever be is 99%
|
dragoniys, Sorry, the context I meant was that I would breed my crosses to Purebred Trotters for better trot and for dominance, not back to pure. Guess I need to be clearer. I did hear about the 99% pure thing. Thank you

No worries and you're welcome darl

I'm trying to cross breed Akhal-Teke with a Thoroughbreed. I combine the speeds and gallops to make an awesome one. I'll post on here when she has foaled

Newest PSHxTrotter foals.
Feliciano Natalya, My second filly, finally.. Not so happy with Natalya's GP, but it'll be ok after games I think. Be so much easier to finish my first pair if I could afford to buy hundreds of passes but I just bought me three unis and I shouldn't spend all mah money.. |

I'm not a crossbreeder, but I have crossbred horses before. Excuse me if this may be incorrect- I'm no professional xP
If you're crossbreeding horses, you either want to pick two breeds that excel in certain areas (hence, breeding them will make the offspring even better) or two breeds that make up for each others weaknesses. For example, a horse that's good in dressage and trotting could be bred with a fast horse with so-so dressage skill. This would give you an all around decent horse, good for all kinds of events. Kind of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none scenario. Hope that helped. |

I am just starting to try cross-breeding alittle. I want some good jumpers with great stamina too so I crossed Akhal-tekes with Hanoverians... Is that ok? I got some pretty nice foals with pretty good skills, so I personaly think it would be a great mix! What do you guy think? I mean, I'm only dabbing in the cross-breeding society so I need some advice!

When the game picks the breed pic for a crossbred foal does it always pick the sire's?
|
It looks like a great mix hiddenmeadows! I think it would be good with the skills its getting.
Whimsical- Apparently for a 50 50 cross, the foal will always be the sires breed. After that it goes with the highest percentage. |
