I have tried for soooooo long to get a Gypsy Vanner horse and I ahve been crossbreeding for soo long with other Gypsy Vannners. I finnaly have one named Weell I forgot but I stil got one. So If you want a certain breed never give up. Go to autions while your horse is in gestation!

I just checked the Mustang Ranking, and Blue Ribbon is in second for Dressage! I am so happy!
Jessie: Are those the first foals? Or have you bred them for a long time? AND... *to*. Not *t*. |
By Retired breeder, 30th September 2011 00:29:49

i used an Akhal i had baught and used in my akhal bloodline, and bread her with a freisian stallion with almost identical GP and the foals are amazing im just starting the training on the best female and aging her faster then her siblings who im just doing day by day, she has yet to enter compititions but the day is coming soon! |

Jessie.D - All I can say is those friestekes sound -amazing-. No, they *are* amazing. My crosses look a little pathetic next to yours
That does sound like a nice cross, you'll have to tell us how it turns out =) I'm working on getting my .... uh, not really sure how to explain a horse with 4 breeds of all different percentages... ummm... mutt thing BLUPed So far it's going very slowly, hopefully he does better in cross-country comps than he does in jump. This is the one I was told I should keep because his genetics looked nice. And they do, but they aren't testing well so far... Oh well, he's not even 4 yet, hopefully he'll turn around and amaze me =) |

megooni
it could also be that this is one of thoes horses that are "stuborn" ive trained some that do not like compititions even though they are trained for specific things, ive had akhals that do horrible in cross county but do phenominal in things like gallop and trot races just keep at it and try the different compititions, youll find one it likes ;p |

DressageGal's Horse <- there's a direct link to it so you don't need to copy and paste.
Jessie - I hope so, I've only entered him in a few jump and trot races so far. Once he's done jump comps and training I'll enter cross-crountry which he should do better in, but we'll just have to wait and see I guess. |

Hi all!
Just crossed Arabian Horse with a French Trotter (Arabian Trotters hehe) (: I like the results so far! Stamina - 67.75 Gallop - 41.85 Speed - 82.42 Trot - 56.03 Dressage - 67.52 Jumping - 42.69 What do you guys think, is this a good start? |
By Retired breeder, 17th October 2011 00:49:24
it looks good, and looks like it would do well in almost any compitition, especialy gallop and jumping events since it has such good speed and medium in everything else

Hi:
I'm new to this forum. I couldn't find a way to search to see if anyone else is doing something similar to my crosses. My 1st cross was Arab to Tb; I then crossed the result (a filly with 100 BLUP) to a purebred Hanoverian. Unfortunately both the foals were colts but they had a GP of 381.84 which I thought was not bad until I read what you are all doing. I was going to bred my Anglo Arab to another Hanoverian but maybe a Friesian would be a better way to go. Any suggestions will be carefully studied. Deltaqueen |

post links to one of your foals or give stats so we can see what they have. it sounds like a very complicated cross but probably would have very nice skills.
what is your goal for cross breeding these horses? |
By Retired breeder, 22nd October 2011 20:37:19
Sorry, I don't know how to make a link you can click on.
This the link to my 1/2 Arab; 1/2 TB cross, Bay Rum <http://ca.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=135471> This is the link to her foal - 1/2 Hanoverian; 1/4 TB; 1/4 Arab - Flying Cloud <http://ca.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=185908> I started with an Anglo Arab cross because they used to make very good show jumpers in real life many years ago now. Then as I got more into the game I got interested in obtaining the highest GP I could for my foals. If I find a mix that "clicks" I'd probably keep on doing it but I will also experiment with other crosses with my other mare (100% Arab) - Fatima <http://ca.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=121328> &/or her fillies (1/2 H; 1/2 Arab) - Serendipity <http://ca.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=190079> Thanks for replying Deltaqueen |

some reason the links wont work for me x,x
the arab TB cross is a good one, would be supurbe in gallop races and barrol |
By Retired breeder, 23rd October 2011 00:12:02
Sorry about that. I am quite computer literate but must be having a "senior moment" about how to make a link.
The Arab TB cross was best at showjumping. Didn't win very many gallop races at all. http://ca.howrse.com/joueur/fiche/?id=52323 This is a link to my page - if you cut & paste, it should work. |
By Retired breeder, 23rd October 2011 19:53:28
ill just click your name ;p
its also how you train them for the compititionsfor example if your going to enter gallop races you want to only train in speed and dressage if you were doing barrol races you would train in gallop and dressage the reason the horse probably did so well in jumping is becuase it wont have as high of jumping skills meaning that it can enter in lower dificulty events and still have high speed and dressage |

I've been thinking... you know how when you cross breed a horse you get one breed or the other? So say you breed a mustang and an arabian, you get a mustang, even though it's technically half of each. I think that maybe the howrse staff could make a new position and picture of horse for each crossbreed? Like new patterns, new markings, etc. Who thinks I should send a request for that? Just a thought!
And I think the whole crossbreeding idea is cool. It's great because you can get stats from each breed to build up the overall potential. |
