I first played the game a few years ago. At that time, players were able to trade Black Market items with each other for other Black Market items. Can we still do that?

Yes, you can still use the item exchanges. You will gain access to the exchanges once you have finished the apprentice breeder objectives. Then every week, the number of trades you can offer or accept are limited:

Less than 15 days of seniority 1 exchange
Between 15 and 30 days of seniority 2 exchanges
Over 30 days of seniority 3 exchanges
With the Pegasus Account 3 extra exchanges
