This topic is for those who love the Golden Apple and Helios Ray customization items. It's a place to share your favorites or help each other hunt for a perfect matching combo.

Try to avoid announcing when coats become retired so that we avoid clogging the forum up but sharing ones you are proud to have recently acquired is welcomed.

Forum rules do apply so advertising that you have coats for sale or that you are looking to purchase will not allowed in the topic.

The coat I had previously referenced here - This One is not the same coat now. It was an RA that looked Clydesdale-ish. Not sure if it's been replaced, or what exactly. I'll have to do some investigating.

I do have another new combination I just put together that I'm pretty keen on as well - Gelding.

I was just looking through your horses and I have to say I LOVE this one of Sirius. I think it is really nice as the horse looks like it is heading to join the others behind him, and in a way kind of represents the same misty qualities of the veil Sirius falls through when he dies. 10/10 (Or should I say 9 and 3/4?)default smiley ;)

Thank you! As I said before, I didn't plan for pink - I chose the coat because I liked it, then that background went with it, and decided "why not" and did pink for her name. default smiley :p

Here's another - Jai'galaar. His name means "shriek-hawk" in Mando'a.

Thank you! I love that coat too and am quite happy with the combination. default smiley :) I was looking at getting another copy, but just noticed it already retired! Some of them go so quickly! I should probably pay more attention next time.


I'm thinking of waiting and putting an unlimited HR on Frost and Snowflake, which I think is a VIP privilege. It can be hard to choose sometimes, especially with so many great new ones coming out. There are some incredibly talented artists on Howrse. I'm definitely not one of them. default smiley xd

It's less colour-matching then "what coat goes well with this background?" or vice versa. Sometimes I'll have a specific idea in mind (I'm looking into mostly black coats with red for Jaster, a colt I'm blupping), but usually it's kinda spur of the moment. But thanks! Dapple Dash's coat name is Sternbild, if you're interested in it.

CloudHugger- It really depends on the style of the individual. I personally like to have a BG that goes with the style and texture and makes the coat tell a story, rather than color matching.
And oh my gosh! I love all the realistic combo, my favorite coat style. I adore Starshadow. It reminds me of my home town in the Rock Mountains. default smiley (y)
